SmartAgriHubs
Project objective:
SmartAgriHubs is dedicated to accelerate the digital transformation of the European agri-food sector. By building a extensive, Europe-wide network of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHS) that boosts the uptake of digital solutions by the farming sector. The heart of the project is formed by 28 flagship innovation experiments (with Austrian participation inter alia mower robot for vineyards; precision farming in agricultural practices), where ideas, concepts and prototypes are further developed and brought to the market.
In the course of the project, funds totalling € 5.7 million were awarded in "open calls" for further innovation experiments to develop technological solutions to the major challenges of the agri-food sector.

Role of LKO:
By participating in the international research project "SmartAgriHubs", the Austrian Chamber of Agriculture ensures that new knowledge is brought to Austria and practicable solutions are developed specifically for small-scale agriculture.
